Geology-Driven Integration System
Geology-Driven Integration (GDI) is one type of seismic inversion tool and can estimate rock properties (porosity, reservoir thickness, etc) from only a few controls with the help of regional geological knowledge. The synthetic seismic records of actual wells are theoretically expanded to those of many pseudo-wells that are generated by a Monte-Carlo Simulation Method. Then the properties are trained to relate with seismic attributes through an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Once the relationship is established, the entire seismic volume (2D or 3D) yields a lateral prediction of rock properties.
