Geophysical surveys are effective methods for exploring subsurface resources other than petroleum or natural gas. For geothermal exploration, seismic, gravity, magnetic, magneto-telluric and VSP surveys are commonly used. In addition, monitoring of micro-earthquakes and inter-well tomography utilizing bore holes are also often used.
